US Army camo uniforms: rumour control
Well, its certainly interesting to see how much interest there has been in the story about the US Congress asking the Army to issue a better camo uniform for troops going to Afghanistan. In fact, in the global WordPress “Blogs of the Day – Top Posts” statistics, we scored higher than a story about a Barbie party in the German version of Big Brother:

Anyways, forgetting about Barbie and friends, there have been some mis-interpretations of the camo story – and of course some pretty wild rumours too – so in an effort to set the record straight, our friends ove at Soldier Systems have posted an editorial that should clear up a few things. Its well worth a read: http://soldiersystems.net/2009/07/05/camo-rumors-an-editorial/

“Strike! Hold!” is the motto of the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment (in which I served from 1983-1986). To me, this is a good motto for special / unconventional ops: ‘STRIKE’ from the sky, from the sea, or on land - and ‘HOLD’ true to your mission, your unit, your comrades.
