BASIC TACTICAL SCUBA DIVING COURSE – Italy, 22 August 2011 – 24 August 2011

The Mobile Training Team (MTT) of the European Paratroopers Association’s Training Center will conduct their first ever Tactical SCUBA Course this summer in the Mediterranean Sea. You will actually be diving and performing swimming underwater using open-circuit equipment in the open water, and you will learn not only the tactical capabilities of your scuba gear but more importantly – you will learn the tactical capabilities of yourself!

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Principles of military diving
  • Scuba equipment
  • Inspection and maintenance of individual swim equipment

  • Determining duration of air supply
  • Effects of compression and the decrease of gasses in the human body
  • Decompression
  • Malfunctions
  • Safety procedures
  • Dangerous Marine Life

The course is open to civilians, police and miltitary personnel – and the chance to live and train in the sea with fellow Operators from around Europe is a rare and exciting opportunity!

At the end of the course according to host Unit’s regulations, students will be awarded the Italian Military ‘SOMMOZZATORI’ – Scuba Diving – badge, and the International Civilian (CMAS) scuba diving qualification.
